Prof. Gill is an anthropologist and filmmaker whose work focuses on Sikh men, masculinity, and migration. His most recent film was Roots of Love, about the relationship of Sikh men to their hair and the experiences of cutting hair in order to migrate to the west. He is currently finishing up a film called Mardistan (man-land) that continues themes about urban masculinity among Sikh men.
