Two former Lafayette students, Hollis Miller ’15 and Emily Mulford ’15, both alumni of the Department of Anthropology and Sociology, participated along with their former Lafayette professor Andrea Lynn Smith, Department of Anthropology and Sociology, at the Unearthing, Unseeing: Archaeology, Heritage and Forensics in the Shadow of State Violence conference, held at Cornell University earlier this month. Mulford is completing a Ph.D. in archaeology at University of Chicago. Miller is an assistant professor of archaeology at SUNY Cortland. Smith directed Miller’s Lafayette honors thesis. Miller’s thesis student, Caleigh Pfalzer, presented their contribution to the conference titled “Legacy Collections and State Violence at SUNY Institutions.”
