On March 5th, Prof. Lee was a featured speaker at “Bringing the People Back In: Race, Class, & Inequality in U.S. Politics,” a symposium in Washington, DC, convening leading scholars and political practitioners to discuss “the current state of U.S. democracy, contemporary research on American politics, and the roles that academics and practitioners can play in resisting authoritarianism, defending research, and strengthening democratic institutions.” This symposium is part of Peopling Politics, “an interdisciplinary network that connects sociologists, political scientists, and practitioners who study U.S. politics with a focus on race, class, inequality, and the social and cultural forces that shape political life.”
