Rebekah Lazar ’26 gave a research presentation entitled “Constructing Meaning in Campus Protest Coverage: Role Conceptions and Framing in Student Journalism” on March 5th at the Eastern Sociological Society’s Annual Meeting. Rebekah’s thesis, supervised by Prof. Kissane, investigates nine small liberal arts college’s coverage of protest in their campus newspapers. The presentation was for a “Civic Engagement, Activism, & Community Organizations” panel at the Communities in Contention Mini-Conference. Rebekah was recently featured in a Lafayette Communications story about Women’s History Month. Bravo, Rebekah!
